Born on November 28, 1975, in Layton, Utah, Tricia developed a love for sports and competition at an early age. She excelled in soccer, basketball, and softball, quickly establishing herself as a standout athlete known for both her skill and determination. Throughout her athletic career, she earned numerous honors and accolades that reflected her talent and commitment.
Among her many accomplishments was receiving the prestigious NJCAA Betty Jo Graber Award, recognizing the nation’s top female junior college athlete. Her achievements later earned her induction into the athletic halls of fame at both Utah Valley and Weber State, cementing her place among the most accomplished athletes associated with those institutions.
Despite her success in sports, Tricia’s greatest calling became medicine. After graduating from Kansas City University College of Medicine, she returned to Utah to complete her residency in family medicine at McKay-Dee Hospital. She went on to practice medicine at several clinics before concluding her career at Tanner Clinic, where she became known as a compassionate and dedicated physician.
Patients often described Dr. Ferrin as someone who genuinely listened and cared deeply about their well-being. Colleagues admired her professionalism, empathy, and willingness to go above and beyond to support those in her care. Outside of medicine, Tricia embraced an active and adventurous lifestyle. She loved hiking, biking, running, water skiing, and snow skiing, often sharing those experiences with family and friends. Dr. Tricia Lee Ferrin is survived by her parents, Lee and Kathy Ferrin; her siblings, Tara, David, and Jeff; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, colleagues, and patients who will forever cherish her memory.
